The Children's Center is designed to meet the standards of excellence set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our educational philosophy, highly trained teachers, and fully equipped classrooms come together to provide a place for your child to grow and learn. Our school thrives on the joy of discovery and the interaction of children and adults in a total community. We welcome you to visit, meet the staff and discuss your own specific needs.

Our programs provide unlimited opportunities for the development of the whole child. There's a unique curriculum for every age level, centered around developmentally appropriate and fun activities to help children develop physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Staff:

The staff consists of a director, teachers and assistants. All staff meet and in most cases exceed requirements for educational and experience backgrounds. The student/teacher ratios also meet or exceed state requirements and assure personal attention and time for one to one learning experiences. In addition to professional qualifications, all staff are selected for their warmth and responsiveness to children. All staff are trained in early childhood health and safety.

Our director, Claudette Logan has been with us over 22 years. Many of her full-time staff have been onboard at the Children's Center for 10 or more years ... a testament to the dedication to our CCW kids. Our teachers are trained in early childhood health and safety and are regularly updating their childcare training requirements though seminar, courses and workshops.

Environment:

The Children's Center is located in a warm, nurturing atmosphere at 483 Water Street, Route 129, Wakefield, Massachusetts. Our beautiful one-acre playground is completely fenced in and contains a sand box, picnic tables and various outdoor equipment for your child's large muscle development, outdoor learning experiences and relaxing enjoyment.

The indoor classrooms are clean, bright rooms which are furnished with the finest child care equipment and organized into special interest areas. The warm personal environment is secure and fun and promotes an inquisitive attitude. The school is designed to give children time to independently choose activities as well as time for structured learning experiences.
