January 2004 NewsletterBRRR, It’s COLD outside. January is definitely here. Please remember to send warm outside clothes for your child. We try to go out every day to get some fresh air and enjoy the snow and the cold. December was very busy and exciting as we celebrated the holidays and
visited with family and friends. We welcomed many new friends to the school since our last newsletter. The infant room welcomed Makenna, Cross, and Deanna and joining Toddler 1, Rhiannon. We’re glad to have you as part of the Children’s Center family. Please return updated forms as soon as possible. Parents are reminded to update addresses, phone numbers (home, work and cell), etc, as needed. We also ask that you notify us of any change in schedule so that we may adjust staffing if necessary. December brought a few staff changes also. Nikki was out for the month after she and her husband Jimmy welcomed Deanna into their family. Congratulations! Nancy Marino (Toddler/Preschool 1) continues to be out due to a broken arm suffered in a car accident. We’ll keep you posted on her progress. We are happy that Stephanie M. was able to join us during semester break to fill in whenever needed. The Infant room has been enjoying the extra help from a student intern from Endicott College, Lindsay Govostes. Lindsay also happens to be a CCW alumni, we are very proud of the lovely young woman that she has become. January has already been very busy. The upstairs children have begun "Letter of the Week". We will also be enjoying some of our favorite wintertime activities, like "Beach Day" and "Game Day". Please remember to check the daily schedule and your child’s day sheet for updated notices. This winter has also seen numerous cases of illness, (flu, croup, strep throat, etc.). Please let us know if your child is absent due to illness, so that we may inform other parents. The Children’s Center is a wonderful and fun place to be because of the children, staff and parents who make up our family. Thanks to all of you. Quote of the month: Cleaning your house while your kids
are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.
